Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer to act as a leading technical expert in enterprise IT infrastructure, cloud services, automation, cybersecurity, and contemporary data technology. This position requires over a decade of experience in IT infrastructure and system engineering, including significant hands-on expertise in Microsoft Azure and DevOps spanning more than seven years.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and manage enterprise environments utilizing Windows Server and various Linux distributions such as RHEL, Ubuntu, and CentOS.
- Conduct advanced Linux system administration including kernel tuning, scripting in Bash and Python, as well as enforcing security hardening with SELinux and AppArmor.
- Administer and troubleshoot VMware vSphere/ESXi and Microsoft Hyper-V virtualization platforms.
- Create and deploy Microsoft Azure IaaS and PaaS solutions, implementing Azure networking, Software Defined Networking (SDN), Hub-and-Spoke topologies, Entra ID, and governance frameworks.
- Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) standards and implementations using Terraform and Azure Bicep tools.
- Construct and maintain Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines leveraging Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions.
- Automate system administration tasks and configuration management through PowerShell and Ansible.
- Oversee and fine-tune database platforms including Microsoft SQL Server, Kafka, and MongoDB, with emphasis on high availability, replication, sharding, and disaster recovery protocols.
- Manage container orchestration with Docker and Kubernetes, ensuring scalability and system reliability.
- Implement and maintain security controls aligned with international standards such as ISO 27001 and NIST guidelines.
- Lead vulnerability scanning and remediation activities using tools like Qualys or Tenable.
- Supervise enterprise-wide backup and disaster recovery mechanisms utilizing solutions such as Veeam, Commvault, or Veritas.
- Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, standard operating procedures, configuration guidelines, and infrastructure schematics.
- Adhere to ITIL v4 best practices for managing incidents, problems, changes, and asset lifecycles.
- Lead major infrastructure projects including migrations, upgrades, and other key technical initiatives.
- Provide mentorship and technical direction to junior engineers tackling complex infrastructure and architecture challenges.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a closely related discipline is required.
- A master’s degree is highly desirable.
- At least 10 years of experience in IT infrastructure and system engineering roles.
- Minimum 7 years of practical experience working directly with Microsoft Azure and DevOps methodologies.
- In-depth expertise in Windows Server and Linux operating system environments.
- Advanced skills in virtualization platforms including VMware vSphere/ESXi and Microsoft Hyper-V.
- Comprehensive understanding of Azure networking, Entra ID, governance policies, and cloud architectures.
- Proficiency in using Terraform and Azure Bicep for Infrastructure as Code development.
- Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions for CI/CD pipeline construction.
- Familiarity with database technologies such as MS SQL, Kafka, and MongoDB.
- Strong command of container technologies like Kubernetes and Docker.
- Knowledge and implementation experience of security frameworks including NIST and ISO 27001, along with patch management and security hardening practices.
- Experience managing enterprise backup systems and recovery solutions.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting abilities combined with leadership and stakeholder communication skills.
