Job description
About the Role
Join Infineon's Microcontroller division as a Senior Staff / Principal Product Engineer, based in Singapore. This role focuses on maintaining superior product quality and manufacturing efficiency for leading automotive microcontrollers, including AURIX, TRAVEO, and PSOC product lines. You will collaborate with a globally distributed team across Singapore, Tokyo, Munich, and Bangkok.
Key Responsibilities
- Define characterization parameters and develop the corresponding test programs; collaborate with design engineers to evaluate measurement data.
- Investigate root causes of device failures during qualification, customer use, or yield loss by analyzing results on evaluation boards or Automated Test Equipment (ATE) in the laboratory.
- Lead efforts to successfully pass product qualification, and implement rapid learning and improvements when necessary.
- Analyze production yield issues and devise optimization methods.
- Strike an optimal balance between test coverage, cost, and complexity.
- Assist in defining and enhancing stress test methodologies, including implementation and validation.
- Ensure correlation between device performance on testers and actual performance at customer applications.
- Contribute as a member of a cross-domain product development team to enhance product functionality and quality while controlling costs and schedules; for example, optimizing performance versus power consumption.
- Promote cycle-time reduction initiatives across product and test engineering and facilitate system-level debugging for customers by utilizing autonomous AI agents.
- Lead pre-silicon predictive analytics to forecast potential issues in yield, performance, and reliability before tape-out.
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline.
- At least 10 years of experience in the semiconductor industry encompassing product development, test engineering, silicon bring-up, characterization, and yield optimization.
- Comprehensive expertise covering the semiconductor lifecycle: architecture, RTL design, design verification, design-for-test (DFT), pre-silicon modeling, technology development, silicon bring-up and validation, ATE development, outsourced semiconductor assembly and test (OSAT) operations, system debug, yield analysis, defect density modeling, and parametric assessment.
- Proven track record delivering AI-based solutions that enhance production cycle time, predictability, and engineering efficiency.
- Strong leadership abilities, effective communication skills, and capacity to influence cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience executing AI transformation projects in semiconductor or advanced manufacturing sectors.
- Expertise in AI and machine learning applications for predictive analytics, adaptive testing, and anomaly detection.
- Familiarity with ATE platforms like Teradyne, Advantest, and LTX-Credence.
- Additional background in electronic design automation (EDA) tools, DFT/DV, technology development, or yield engineering is advantageous.
- Publication record, patents, or demonstrated thought leadership in the industry.
