Staff / Senior Staff Engineer - Test Development (Advantest V93000)

About the Role

Join our Research & Development division as a Test Engineer at Infineon Technologies in Singapore to innovate and shape the future of semiconductor technology. This role focuses on pioneering test programs and strategies that push the boundaries of manufacturing efficiency and product quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain A93K test programs using SmarTest 7, including the configuration of test methods, levels, timing setups, specifications, equations, limits, and sequencing of test flows.
• Create modular test methods and measurement algorithms in C++, focusing on data handling and validation of limits.
• Lead critical silicon bring-up stages including device characterization, bench-to-ATE data correlation, production release cycles, enhancement of test coverage and robustness, and reduction of test execution times.
• Design and validate mixed-signal loadboards; troubleshoot both hardware and software issues using tools such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and ATE diagnostics.
• Develop and implement multi-site and parallel test methodologies to optimize throughput for high-volume manufacturing.
• Analyze production and characterization data to identify areas for yield and quality improvements; automate workflows and generate comprehensive correlation, yield, and customer-facing reports.
• Collaborate closely with Design Engineering on test requirements and design-for-test (DFT) considerations, with Product Engineering to optimize manufacturing processes, and with Applications and Marketing teams to support product evaluations.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in semiconductor test development with practical expertise on Advantest 93000 platforms and SmarTest software.
• Proficiency in C++, Java, or other object-oriented programming languages and experience using version control systems.
• Comprehensive understanding of semiconductor measurements and mixed-signal operations, especially with ADCs, DACs, MEMS sensors, and various digital communication protocols.
• Knowledge of signal processing concepts including sampling theory, Nyquist criteria, FFT/DFT analysis, FIR/IIR filtering techniques, signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), total harmonic distortion (THD), and frequency response analysis.
• Excellent communication and team collaboration skills accompanied by strong product ownership and initiative.
• A motivated self-learner eager to expand technical expertise continually.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with high-volume manufacturing environments is advantageous.
• Exposure to testing MEMS sensors, silicon microphones, audio products, or mixed-signal ICs is beneficial.
• Familiarity with data analysis methodologies for exploratory data analysis, statistical evaluations, process optimization, and data-driven decision making.
• Mandarin language skills are a plus, fostering collaboration with manufacturing partners in China.
