Job description
Company Overview
Qualcomm India Private Limited seeks skilled STA Engineers to join its GPU team, aiming to spearhead timing signoff and closure for next-generation high-performance GPU chip designs. The role requires tight coordination with Architecture, RTL, Physical Design, DFT, and SoC groups to develop premier silicon products.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead block-level and full-chip static timing analysis (STA) signoff for GPU designs.
- Formulate and verify timing constraints using Synopsys Design Constraints (SDC).
- Conduct multi-cycle multi-mode (MCMM/MMMC) timing analysis, drive timing closure, and execute engineering change orders (ECOs).
- Handle timing closure for setup/hold checks, noise, signal integrity (SI), and low-power considerations.
- Work closely with cross-disciplinary teams to identify and resolve timing challenges.
- Improve STA methodologies, workflows, and automation processes.
- Provide technical mentorship and leadership to less experienced engineers.
Qualifications and Required Skills
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields.
- 6 to 10 years of professional experience in ASIC/SoC STA and timing closure.
- Proficiency in STA techniques including MCMM/MMMC, SDC development, timing closure, ECO implementation, and SI analysis.
- Hands-on expertise with Synopsys PrimeTime tool.
- Solid grasp of Physical Design principles and design implementation flows.
- Competence in Tcl and Python scripting for automation and analysis.
Preferred Experience
- Background in GPU, CPU, AI/ML, or other high-performance System on Chip (SoC) designs.
- Experience with advanced semiconductor technology nodes at 5nm or smaller.
- Familiarity with industry tools such as Fusion Compiler, ICC2, StarRC, Tempus, or Innovus.
- Demonstrated capability for technical leadership and mentoring.
Educational Requirements
- Option 1: Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 4 years of relevant hardware engineering experience.
- Option 2: Master's degree with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
- Option 3: PhD with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
