Qualcomm India Private Limited is a global leader in the design and development of integrated chipsets powering advanced mobile devices, XR (Extended Reality), IoT, automotive, and computing platforms. The multimedia architecture team in Bangalore creates embedded imaging solutions for Snapdragon chipsets, which serve as the core for mobile, automotive, IoT, and AR/VR devices. Their work integrates specialized hardware, multi-core processors, DSPs, and GPUs to provide cutting-edge photography, videography, and machine intelligence capabilities.
Role Overview
This role is for a Camera System Architect focused on defining and analyzing the architecture of new Spectra image signal processors (ISPs) embedded within Snapdragon SoCs targeting ADAS (Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems), XR, and premium mobile devices. The position demands close collaboration with engineering teams and the ability to guide architecture decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and compare various architectural options to recommend the most effective choices and unify cross-functional teams around those recommendations.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to delineate detailed data and control flows within the system.
- Investigate and explore multiple ISP architecture possibilities encompassing hardware, firmware, software, as well as programming and control models specific to Spectra ISPs.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience
- Background in image and video signal processing technologies.
- Knowledge of image sensor technology.
- Expertise in system-on-chip (SoC) platforms.
- Experience in system architecture, hardware micro-architecture, or embedded software/firmware development.
- Skills in analyzing power consumption, performance metrics, and area efficiency.
- Familiarity with modern camera technologies and the ISP pipeline.
- Strong communication abilities.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or closely related fields.
- At least 5 years of professional experience in architecture or micro-architecture roles.
Additional Educational Criteria
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science or related field with 6+ years of relevant systems engineering experience, or
- Master's degree with 5+ years of related work experience, or
- PhD degree with 4+ years of relevant systems engineering experience.
