The multimedia architecture team in Bangalore creates embedded imaging solutions for Snapdragon chipsets, which serve as the core for mobile, automotive, IoT, and AR/VR devices. Their work integrates specialized hardware, multi-core processors, DSPs, and GPUs to provide cutting-edge photography, videography, and machine intelligence capabilities.

Role Overview

This role is for a Camera System Architect focused on defining and analyzing the architecture of new Spectra image signal processors (ISPs) embedded within Snapdragon SoCs targeting ADAS (Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems), XR, and premium mobile devices. The position demands close collaboration with engineering teams and the ability to guide architecture decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze and compare various architectural options to recommend the most effective choices and unify cross-functional teams around those recommendations.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to delineate detailed data and control flows within the system.
• Investigate and explore multiple ISP architecture possibilities encompassing hardware, firmware, software, as well as programming and control models specific to Spectra ISPs.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience

• Background in image and video signal processing technologies.
• Knowledge of image sensor technology.
• Expertise in system-on-chip (SoC) platforms.
• Experience in system architecture, hardware micro-architecture, or embedded software/firmware development.
• Skills in analyzing power consumption, performance metrics, and area efficiency.
• Familiarity with modern camera technologies and the ISP pipeline.
• Strong communication abilities.

Minimum Qualifications

• Master's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or closely related fields.
• At least 5 years of professional experience in architecture or micro-architecture roles.

Additional Educational Criteria

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science or related field with 6+ years of relevant systems engineering experience, or
• Master's degree with 5+ years of related work experience, or
• PhD degree with 4+ years of relevant systems engineering experience.
