Senior Software Engineer II - Java Microservices

Role Overview

The position involves converting product strategies and business goals into actionable features for scrum teams, taking on multiple responsibilities such as feature leadership, development, product design, quality assurance, and project management. This key role collaborates with Product Managers to formulate and present product visions to both technical and business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement the product vision, roadmap, and identify growth potentials.
• Conduct market and competitor analysis to define products that meet market needs, evaluate addressable markets, penetration potential, and strategic business alignment.
• Support execution of value propositions and business cases.
• Lead cross-functional teams by effective communication and coordination across organizational levels.
• Architect system components primarily in one investment segment with expertise across all related modules.
• Design systems integral to the investment segment.
• Collaborate with Product Managers on product planning and performance metrics.
• Engage customers throughout the product lifecycle for obtaining valuable insights.
• Translate stakeholder requirements into precise backlog items for development teams.
• Create detailed and clear technical user epics and stories with acceptance criteria; participate in story grooming for clear feature documentation.
• Ensure sprint backlogs are appropriately prioritized before execution.
• Coordinate with architects on technology decisions and foster business process improvements and automation opportunities.
• Work with Product and Engineering leadership to allocate efforts for varying types of value in releases.
• Participate in technical and sales enablement activities.

Candidate Profile & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant technical or business discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of professional experience in data engineering and product management domains.
• Proficient in Java backend development.
• Experienced with databases, especially Mongo Atlas, and in building or consuming RESTful APIs.
• Proven experience designing and delivering data or software products.
• Familiarity with cloud-native technologies including Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka, and microservices architecture is essential.
• Basic knowledge of agile and scrum methodologies is required.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP; also familiarity with Redis, Security domain, Datadog, and Codefresh.
• Preferred knowledge of data ETL processes.
• Experience using data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI.
• Strong communication skills with ability to engage stakeholders at various organizational levels.
• Excellent interpersonal capabilities and active listening skills.
• Capacity to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks and adapting to change, supporting operational and go-to-market activities.
• AI Skills: Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot and Cursor for coding, code review, documentation, and testing; familiarity with large language model (LLM) APIs and agentic workflows applicable in software engineering; understanding responsible AI principles including bias mitigation, security, explainability, and ethical use of AI outputs.
• Bonus Skills: Knowledge of frontend scripting languages like Node.js and React.js; understanding of Spark framework, Snowflake, and Databricks; hands-on experience with Terraform is a plus.
