Lead Software Developer - Java with AWS Cloud

Job Overview

This role involves leading the delivery of Java-based microservices, REST APIs, and AWS cloud components. The lead developer will ensure clarity in ambiguous situations, maintain governance standards, and enhance quality across code, API contracts, and data models.

Key Responsibilities

• Own accountability for the delivery and outcomes of the technology team's work.
• Establish technical direction and guide the team to make informed technology decisions.
• Identify and resolve technical obstacles throughout the project lifecycle.
• Collaborate closely with architects and the CTO organization to adhere to governance and best industry practices.
• Meet both functional and non-functional requirements while ensuring the quality of solutions.
• Continuously improve design, architecture, and frameworks to boost maintainability.
• Maintain high standards in data modeling, API design, architectural practices, frameworks, and coding.
• Contribute to estimates, planning, prioritization, and dependency management.
• Exhibit leadership and nurture collaboration across multiple teams and stakeholders.
• Apply expertise in AWS Cloud-native microservices architecture to deliver robust solutions.

Qualifications

• Over 8 years of professional experience delivering frontend applications, microservices, and RESTful APIs.
• Strong proficiency in Java, Node.js, and Spring Boot for API and microservice development.
• Advanced knowledge and hands-on experience with AWS Cloud services including ECS, Lambda, DynamoDB, SQS, and CloudWatch.
• Experience working with databases such as DynamoDB and Aurora.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and API testing tools.
• Exposure to monitoring platforms like Splunk.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills suitable for client-facing interactions.
• A detail-oriented mindset capable of handling ambiguous scenarios while maintaining structured approaches.
• Proven leadership managing cross-team coordination involving database teams, the CTO organization, and API economy initiatives.
• The ability to translate technical uncertainties into clear and scoped solutions.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of Python programming.
• Experience designing and implementing cloud-native data pipelines.
• Understanding of integrating business insights with API economy principles in delivered systems.
