About the Role
We are looking for a seasoned Lead Snowflake Data Engineer to become a vital member of our data engineering team. The successful candidate will design, build, and maintain scalable data solutions leveraging the Snowflake cloud platform. The role demands strong expertise in contemporary data engineering methodologies, cloud technologies, and the integration of AI/ML features within Snowflake.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop reliable data pipelines utilizing Snowflake's native functionalities.
- Create and fine-tune complex Snow SQL and Snow PLSQL queries.
- Construct scalable data applications using the Snowpark framework combined with Python.
- Manage and deploy Snowflake environments within AWS and Azure cloud infrastructures.
- Integrate Snowflake with diverse cloud services, heterogeneous data sources, and governance systems.
- Optimize cloud infrastructure usage and manage operational costs effectively.
- Oversee data processing workflows with Apache Airflow and DBT for transformations.
- Guarantee high data quality, pipeline reliability, and system performance.
- Monitor data pipelines to promptly identify and resolve issues.
- Utilize Snowflake Cortex AI capabilities for advanced analytics and machine learning scenarios.
- Partner with data scientists to bring machine learning models into production using Snowflake.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Between 8 and 15 years of experience in data engineering, specifically with cloud-based data platforms.
- Minimum of 4 years hands-on experience with Snowflake including expertise in Snow SQL, Snow PLSQL, and Snowpark.
- Strong programming skills in Python, particularly for data engineering.
- Experience working with cloud services on AWS, Azure, or both.
- Familiar with workflow orchestration and data modeling using Apache Airflow and DBT.
- Knowledge of Snowflake Cortex AI’s built-in AI and machine learning capabilities is an advantage.
