Senior Software Engineer - FX Engineering

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer specializing in FX Trading Systems to join a fast-paced team focused on rebuilding a leading multi-dealer FX trading platform. This position is ideal for professionals with experience in developing low latency, fault-tolerant distributed systems within the financial sector, employing modern Java technologies, messaging middleware such as Kafka and Solace, and utilizing both SQL and NoSQL databases. The platform operates natively on cloud environments using Kubernetes or Docker containers.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor team members in designing and implementing robust, scalable, and fault-tolerant distributed backend systems that support critical financial applications.
• Apply your expertise in distributed systems to architect and develop high-performance, low-latency, highly available cloud-native backend solutions based on Java and the Spring framework, aligned with business requirements.
• Optimize application code performance to enhance system responsiveness, ensuring efficiency in handling crucial market infrastructure services.
• Participate actively in code reviews to maintain high quality standards, align with software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes, and promote clean code with comprehensive test coverage.
• Engage in architecture discussions and clarify requirements to ensure the successful delivery of technical solutions.

Candidate Requirements

• Possession of a Bachelor's or postgraduate degree in Computer Engineering or a closely related field is preferred.
• Solid knowledge of core Java and the Spring framework; additional experience with React is advantageous.
• Financial qualifications such as degrees or certifications including FRM, CFA, or PRM are considered a plus.
