Role Responsibilities

  • Create, design, and maintain scalable build systems utilised organization-wide, including key build libraries, CI/CD pipelines, and Docker images.
  • Develop and enhance tools and integrations to accelerate and smooth local development, build, and test cycles, comprising IDE extensions, CLI utilities, and container workflows.
  • Automate release and deployment processes to facilitate rapid and continuous delivery.
  • Improve reliability of releases by implementing safe deployment strategies such as canary, blue/green deployments, approval workflows, and environment promotion management.
  • Support developer self-service capabilities by expanding tooling for application teams, including environment scaffolding, secrets handling, and automated resource provisioning.
  • Work collaboratively with product teams to integrate reliability engineering, incident response practices, and ensure service-level objective adherence.

Required Experience and Skills

  • 3 to over 10 years of experience developing tools to enhance developer productivity and experience.
  • Proven expertise building CI/CD systems, gitOps workflows, and managing monorepos.
  • Hands-on experience administering production environments on AWS or Azure platforms, including services like EKS, ECS, or AKS.
  • Strong proficiency in Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform and Helm.
  • Understanding of observability concepts including metrics collection, log management, tracing, and alerting mechanisms.
  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot issues in distributed system architectures and address performance problems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with multi-cloud environments involving both AWS and Azure.
  • Knowledge of Karpenter, Linkerd, or implementation of service mesh frameworks.
  • Familiarity with compliance standards such as ISO 27001, HIPAA, or APRA.
  • Exposure to cloud deployments of MongoDB Atlas, Redis, or PostgreSQL.
