Role Overview

As a Senior Backend Software Engineer at ShopBack, you will be part of a diverse, skilled team working on scalable platforms that serve global eCommerce traffic and deliver excellent products. You will take on complex problems, produce high-quality scalable software, and collaborate across product, data, and design teams to enhance the ShopBack experience. This role welcomes both fresh graduates and seasoned engineers who are driven, resilient, and passionate about continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and successfully deliver large-scale projects consistently.
• Participate actively in ideation, design, development, and testing of product features.
• Develop scalable, well-architected software adhering to best design principles.
• Create well-designed, clean APIs to facilitate client and backend service interactions.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product, data, and design teams.
• Mentor and lead software engineers, encouraging best engineering practices.
• Analyze requirements thoroughly, propose solutions, and communicate trade-offs effectively.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Experience building consumer-facing web applications.
• Demonstrated capability in designing complex distributed systems or business/product management applications.
• Hands-on proficiency with NodeJS and Typescript (preferred).
• Familiarity with deploying and managing applications in cloud environments, especially AWS.
• Track record of designing robust, scalable web services.
• Use of Generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Cursor, Claude) to innovate workflows, increase productivity, and improve operational efficiency.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, technically challenging environment demonstrating adaptability and flexibility.
