About the Role

Join as a Senior Software Engineer working out of Melbourne or Sydney with hybrid remote options, contributing to impactful software utilized by thousands within the financial services industry. You'll engage in a hands-on position covering full software development lifecycle tasks—from initial design through deployment and ongoing support—working on a blend of new features, improvements, and legacy systems involving multiple products and APIs.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain robust, high-performing software solutions.
• Primarily use Python and C++ for backend work, with some frontend development involving React.
• Own end-to-end development tasks and provide production support.
• Implement automated testing and enforce best engineering practices.
• Support software architecture design, emphasizing clean, scalable code.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including product, support, and engineering.
• Diagnose and fix complex production problems efficiently.
• Identify opportunities to automate repetitive tasks to enhance productivity.

Candidate Requirements

• Proven commercial experience with Python and/or C++ and flexibility to work across both languages.
• Familiarity with React or comparable modern frontend frameworks.
• Hands-on experience building and integrating APIs along with complex software systems.
• Strong knowledge of automated testing, continuous integration/delivery, source control, and contemporary engineering methodologies.
• Solid understanding of software architecture, system scalability, and clean code standards.
• Experienced in Agile development processes.
