Job description
Overview
The Software Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software features throughout our product platform. This role involves close collaboration with product and design teams to introduce new functionalities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop clean, maintainable, and thoroughly tested code to implement new product features.
- Work alongside product managers and design teams for feature planning and delivery.
- Engage in code reviews and participate in technical design dialogues with the engineering team.
- Diagnose and address production issues promptly.
- Create and update technical documentation to assist team members.
- Develop and uphold automated testing suites to ensure code integrity and reliable releases.
- Take part in sprint planning sessions, feature estimation, and retrospective meetings.
- Assist in the triage and investigation of bugs reported by users and stakeholders.
- Coordinate with QA teams to guarantee comprehensive feature testing before launch.
- Continuously seek improvements in code quality and software development processes.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum of two years professional experience in software engineering.
- Strong foundational knowledge of at least one contemporary programming language or development framework.
- Proven experience working within an agile team environment.
- Proficiency in version control systems, specifically Git, and collaborative workflows.
- Solid understanding of testing methodologies including unit and integration tests.
- Exceptional communication abilities and adeptness at managing stakeholder expectations.
- Legal clearance to work in Australia.
Desirable Attributes
- Familiarity with cloud service platforms or continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Experience with modern frontend or backend frameworks relevant to the company's technology stack.
