Senior Site Reliability Engineer

Overview

The Business Operations team is looking for an experienced Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) who will be pivotal in maintaining the reliability, scalability, and performance of key applications supporting global operations. You will be a technical leader, passionate about automation and mentoring, focused on ensuring production readiness of products and fostering developer ownership to build resilient systems.

Role and Responsibilities

• Serve as a steward for production readiness, ensuring platform stability and health.
• Facilitate developer-driven ownership by supporting operational design, automation, capacity planning, and monitoring for fault-tolerant and scalable products.
• Drive operational standards and promote an agile, learning-focused culture.
• Handle daily operations with emphasis on incident triage, root cause analysis, and blameless post-mortems considering business impacts.
• Engage early in the development lifecycle to proactively manage production and change activities to optimize customer experiences and application value.
• Oversee risk management responsibilities including compliance and mitigation across environments.
• Align product and customer priorities with operational requirements by providing continuous lifecycle feedback.
• Independently implement key Site Reliability Engineering projects and processes, applying best practices to solve problems.
• Evaluate operational necessities and develop technical solutions within existing frameworks.
• Support automation and scripting initiatives to enhance workflows and incident response.
• Troubleshoot and resolve both routine and complex system issues, escalating when necessary.
• Contribute to documentation, knowledge sharing, and establishing best operational practices.
• Collaborate with development teams and stakeholders to ensure operations meet technical and business objectives.
• Participate in reviews and quality assurance to maintain system stability standards.
• Lead or contribute to solution development for new products and manage smaller projects as an expert contributor within SRE.

Required Skills and Competencies

• Implement effective observability by using scripting and tooling to collect, analyze, and visualize service metrics, logs, and traces aiding incident detection and ongoing improvement.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts and operational tools using languages such as Python, Go, Bash, or equivalents for monitoring, deployment, and incident management.
• Manage and troubleshoot Linux/Unix systems and networking components, with a strong understanding of networking protocols, security, and system reliability.
• Design, deploy, and maintain cloud infrastructure on platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, focusing on scalability, security, and availability.
• Build systems that exhibit high availability, fault tolerance, disaster recovery, and scalable capacity to meet current and future demands.
• Apply DevOps methodologies including CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and orchestration to accelerate reliable software delivery and operations.
• Perform systematic diagnostics and resolution of issues across systems and networks minimizing disruption and maintaining operational stability.
• Conduct capacity planning and optimize system performance to support growth and efficient infrastructure use.
• Utilize IT service management principles to oversee incident, problem, and change management ensuring reliable service and continuous improvement aligned with business goals.
• Use application reliability data proactively to predict risks, prevent problems, and enhance performance and availability.
