Senior Software Engineer

About the Role

This senior-level engineering position centers around hands-on development using Go and focuses on building Kubernetes Operators, platform automation, security, and reliability. Collaborating closely with Kubernetes architects, Site Reliability Engineers, and cloud operations teams, you will engineer scalable software solutions that transform complex operational workflows into high-quality, production-grade systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop Kubernetes Operators, custom resource definitions (CRDs), controllers, APIs, and automation with Go.
• Automate platform lifecycle processes including provisioning, upgrades, scaling, recovery, and configuration.
• Create robust, observable, secure, and fault-tolerant controllers that manage retries, drift, failures, and cluster state changes.
• Implement comprehensive automated test suites and contribute to continuous integration/continuous delivery, GitOps workflows, Helm charts, and infrastructure automation.
• Integrate platform software across diverse Kubernetes environments such as public cloud, private cloud, and on-premises clusters.
• Apply secure Kubernetes practices including role-based access control (RBAC), secrets management, admission control, and workload isolation.
• Enhance platform reliability with observability tools, troubleshooting, incident analysis, and automation improvements.
• Mentor and guide engineers while promoting engineering standards and best practices.

Candidate Profile and Requirements

• Minimum of 8 years’ experience in software development, cloud platforms, DevOps, infrastructure automation, or site reliability engineering.
• Proficient in production-grade software development using Go.
• Hands-on experience creating Kubernetes Operators, controllers, CRDs, admission webhooks, or related Kubernetes-native applications.
• Strong knowledge of Kubernetes APIs, reconciliation patterns, RBAC, finalizers, status conditions, and object lifecycle management.
• Experience in supporting production Kubernetes environments and managing distributed systems.
• Expertise with automated testing strategies, CI/CD pipelines, GitOps, Helm, Linux systems, containerization, networking, storage, and Kubernetes troubleshooting.
• Applied experience implementing Kubernetes security best practices.
• Excellent communication skills coupled with experience mentoring and influencing other engineers.

Preferred Additional Experience

• Familiarity with tools and technologies such as Kubebuilder, Operator SDK, controller-runtime, Terraform, Argo CD, Flux, EKS, AKS, GKE, Prometheus, Grafana, Istio, Linkerd, or Cilium.
• Experience working within regulated or mission-critical environments is advantageous.
• Relevant certifications in Kubernetes, Terraform, cloud DevOps, or Linux are a plus.
