About the Team
The Service Platform group develops the cloud infrastructure that supports ByteDance's worldwide ecosystem. This includes delivering integrated infrastructure solutions such as serverless computing and resource quota management utilized by full-stack engineering teams across the company.
The team's mission is to facilitate safer deployment processes, enhance deployment capabilities, and implement strong control mechanisms to optimize business performance and reduce expenses. They are also innovating by broadening their Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) offerings to aid AI infrastructure through next-generation tooling like MCP and AI Sandbox.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and enhance fundamental platform services and ecosystem components.
- Partner with AI infrastructure teams to integrate dedicated tools and execution environments.
- Continuously boost platform efficiency and cost-saving through system tuning.
- Define and apply platform engineering best practices internally across product teams.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related areas.
- Strong programming abilities in Go, Python, Rust, or Typescript with emphasis on systems programming.
- In-depth knowledge of Linux, TCP/IP and HTTP networking, and distributed system architectures.
- Experience developing infrastructure tools such as monitoring, logging, service mesh, or storage systems.
- Understanding of cloud-native frameworks like Kubernetes and Docker along with designing large-scale systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with PaaS platforms or service deployment machinery.
- Familiarity with AI and Machine Learning infrastructure and related tooling.
- Expertise in resource scheduling and optimization techniques.
- Contributions to open-source infrastructure software.
