Role Overview

The Principal Service Consultant leads the design and implementation of the Dayforce HCM solution, ensuring alignment with client needs through all phases of the project lifecycle: planning, discovery, design, configuration, testing, deployment, and post-launch support. This position collaborates closely with Project Managers to schedule projects, recognize critical dependencies, manage risks, and set realistic client expectations. The role includes mentoring project team members and overseeing configuration and delivery quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Validate and align customer's business needs with Dayforce HCM functionality.
  • Design innovative solutions to address client requirements effectively.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on strategic implementation projects.
  • Lead project meetings, reporting on progress and deliverables.
  • Contribute to internal process improvement and best practice documentation.
  • Oversee the subject matter expert program within at least one domain such as Payroll or Workforce Management.
  • Engage in continuing education activities and mentor colleagues on new product features and implementation best practices.
  • Support sales through solution reviews, scoping, and participation in prospect presentations.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required; Master’s degree or postgraduate coursework is advantageous.
  • Over a decade of experience in HCM consulting, including at least five years focused on Dayforce HCM.
  • Strong background in business process mapping.
  • Change management experience is a plus.

Technical Expertise

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite.
  • Experienced in SaaS/Cloud software environments, particularly with HRIS systems.
  • Knowledge of relational databases and SQL is an asset.
  • Familiarity with complementary applications such as Salesforce.com, SAP, PeopleSoft, JD Edwards, Kronos, and others.
  • Comprehensive skill in implementing all Dayforce HCM modules.
  • Expertise in HCM business practices across multiple industries, with deep knowledge of at least two Dayforce modules (e.g., Payroll, Workforce Self-Service, Time & Attendance, Leave).

  • Strong customer relationship management and business insight.
  • Competent in business functions relevant to human capital management.
  • Ability to juggle multiple concurrent projects and customer priorities.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and teamwork capabilities.
  • Experience facilitating workshops and mentoring junior consultants.
  • Skill in guiding implementation scope and solutions during sales processes.
