Position Overview

We are looking for a Payroll Specialist II to join our Dayforce Managed Team located in Melbourne, responsible for comprehensive payroll processing for Australian customers. This role supports the entire employee lifecycle including payroll, workforce management, benefits, and contact center services, enabling clients to focus on their core business operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Adhere to Dayforce’s Code of Conduct, values, policies, and all applicable information security standards and customer protocols.
  • Manage end-to-end payroll processes, encompassing taxes, benefits, and related activities ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and reconciliation.
  • Process payroll changes, tax documentation, and payments promptly and accurately.
  • Conduct quality audits and control checks to maintain a low error rate.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to resolve payroll and employee inquiries, offering daily support and expertise.
  • Provide payroll services aligned with Dayforce contracts, legislative standards, and customer requirements.
  • Update and review operational procedures and take ownership of payroll deliveries from start to finish.
  • Utilize case management systems for managing customer tasks ensuring thorough and timely documentation.
  • Proactively manage monthly and annual payroll audits and processing cycles.
  • Identify risks, opportunities, and improvements to enhance payroll efficiency and outcomes.
  • Drive customer satisfaction through consistent, high-quality service delivery.
  • Be an active team contributor and escalate risks when identified.
  • Meet or surpass predefined Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective measures for process improvements.
  • Handle and resolve customer complaints promptly and effectively.
  • Deliver work according to schedules, procedures, and quality standards.
  • Engage in ongoing training and development, incorporating feedback for professional growth.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Possess a tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Business, Finance, Accounting, Taxation, or a related field.
  • Have 1 to 3+ years of comprehensive payroll experience within Australia, with a strong understanding of local legislation and compliance.
  • Experience with Dayforce aPay or similar payroll software systems.
  • Hold or be willing to obtain relevant industry certifications.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning and development.
  • Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain technical details clearly.
  • Capable of managing priorities efficiently in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
  • Self-driven, proactive, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple concurrent tasks.
