Position Overview

The role of Senior Recycling Centre Assistant at Salvos Container Recycling Bundamba offers an opportunity to contribute to the smooth daily operations of the centre. This full-time, on-site role in Bundamba, Queensland involves assisting customers in redeeming recyclable containers and ensuring excellent customer service and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the effective management and operation of the Recycling Centre to maintain productivity and efficiency.
  • Provide leadership by supervising team members and stepping in for the Centre Manager when necessary.
  • Offer courteous and respectful customer service, handling enquiries, complaints, and resolving issues promptly.
  • Participate in container counting, sorting, and storage, safely operating equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
  • Ensure the site remains clean, well-presented, and compliant with cash handling protocols, operational guidelines, and workplace health and safety requirements.
  • Mentor and train other team members, monitor their performance goals, and promote a positive work environment.

Candidate Requirements

  • Experience in customer service within retail environments with a collaborative team approach.
  • Previous involvement in recycling or transport sectors is advantageous.
  • Strong prioritisation and time management capabilities.
  • Possession of an unrestricted C Class driver's licence is preferred.
  • Forklift licence is essential or willingness to obtain one.
  • Mandatory national police record check clearance.
