Job description
Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor specialized in MEP to manage cost and quantity surveying activities for construction projects in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The ideal candidate will oversee the entire project lifecycle, ensuring precise cost control and effective commercial management.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the quantity surveying and cost control efforts for Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) components throughout project stages.
- Develop and critically assess Bills of Quantities (BOQs), quantity measurements, cost estimations, and tender documentation.
- Analyze and verify subcontractor bids, handle variation assessments, and process payment applications.
- Track and report on project budgets, expenditures, financial commitments, forecasts, and cost summaries.
- Review, evaluate, and negotiate contract variations, claims, and change orders with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Collaborate closely with departments such as Procurement, Contracts, Engineering, and Project Management to ensure cohesive operations.
- Guarantee precise measurement and financial valuation of MEP work completed on site.
- Assist in finalizing accounts, conducting commercial closeout procedures, and reconciling all financial aspects related to projects.
- Maintain meticulous records of contracts, variations, measurement data, and all commercial communications.
Candidate Requirements
- Possession of a degree in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated extensive experience in MEP quantity surveying and commercial project management.
- Exposure to large-scale or mega construction projects, ideally within luxury hotel developments.
- In-depth understanding of MEP subcontracting dynamics, contract administration, change management, claims handling, and cost control mechanisms.
- Previous work experience within the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region, particularly in Saudi Arabia, is highly advantageous.
- Position based at Qiddiyah, Riyadh.
