Job Overview
- This is a permanent, full-time position based in Ponsonby, Auckland, requiring a hybrid work schedule of three days on-site and two days working remotely.
- Occasional travel to Australia may be necessary during certain phases of project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the entire project lifecycle, setting clear project scopes, objectives, success criteria, scheduling, resource allocation, and managing dependencies.
- Ensure governance structures and accountability mechanisms keep projects aligned with scope, schedule, and budget, including transparent reporting and escalation channels.
- Lead multi-disciplinary teams and coordinate efforts among business units, IT departments, and external vendors to sustain project momentum and prioritize effectively.
- Identify and manage risks, issues, dependencies, and changes proactively, mitigating bottlenecks to maintain smooth project execution.
- Maintain active communication with senior leadership, supporting change management processes and ensuring operational readiness and adoption of project outcomes.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum five years managing complex IT projects and multi-stream initiatives from inception to completion.
- Well-versed in business applications, system integrations, and data migration processes.
- Practical expertise with Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid project management methodologies.
- Proven skills in stakeholder engagement, vendor coordination, effective communication, and project planning.
- Certification in project management methodologies such as PMP, PRINCE2, PMI-ACP, or CSM preferred; prior involvement in the Australian or New Zealand education sector is advantageous.
