Project Manager Scrum Master

Overview

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Project Manager / Scrum Master to lead the deployment of a loan book agency platform in partnership with a prominent UAE bank. The role requires overseeing the entire project lifecycle, from initial planning through to integration, testing, deployment, and ongoing operational support, while maintaining close coordination with banking stakeholders and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Own comprehensive implementation planning including timelines, milestones, risks, resources, and deliverables.
• Act as the main liaison between the bank, external parties, and internal departments such as product, engineering, operations, compliance, and leadership.
• Manage all implementation phases encompassing requirements gathering, system configuration, integration, data migration, testing, deployment, go-live, and post-launch maintenance.
• Maintain detailed documentation such as project plans, risk registers, decision logs, and status reports.
• Identify and promptly escalate and resolve dependencies and blockers.
• Lead regular governance and stakeholder meetings, providing transparent updates on project progress.
• Control adjustments to scope, priorities, timelines, and requirements using a structured change management process.
• Serve as Scrum Master for product and engineering teams, facilitating sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
• Translate business priorities into clear development objectives, user stories, and acceptance criteria in collaboration with product owners and business stakeholders.
• Promote team ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement while removing impediments to delivery.
• Monitor delivery metrics to boost predictability, quality, and team efficiency.
• Coordinate quality assurance, integration testing, regression and performance testing, user acceptance, and business testing efforts.
• Establish and enforce testing plans, defect management, and release readiness criteria.
• Partner with bank stakeholders and internal users to ensure testing outcomes are documented, prioritized, and resolved.
• Coordinate release planning, deployment activities, go-live preparation, rollback strategies, and post-release validation.
• Ensure robust support procedures, monitoring, documentation, and escalation processes are defined for every major release.
• Enhance platform availability, performance, security, and reliability with engineering and operations teams.
• Manage incident tracking, root-cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
• Support training, handover, and documentation for internal users, clients, and operational teams.
• Oversee ancillary workstreams related to enterprise and banking compliance readiness, including SOC 2 Type II certification.
• Manage evidence collection, remediation actions, documentation, and stakeholder reviews for security compliance.
• Coordinate with auditors, advisers, and internal teams to keep certification timelines on track.
• Maintain oversight of parallel initiatives ensuring management of shared dependencies, resources, and priorities.

Candidate Profile

• Proven track record managing complex technology implementations in banking and enterprise software environments.
• Experience delivering platforms involving extensive integrations, data flows, security protocols, testing, deployment, and multi-stakeholder coordination.
• Strong Agile delivery expertise as a Scrum Master or equivalent role.
• Ability to effectively manage senior client stakeholders, technical teams, business users, vendors, and internal leadership.
• Willingness and capability to thoroughly understand platform details and work within relevant systems and delivery tools.
• Deep understanding of software development and release lifecycle processes, including requirements management, quality assurance, user acceptance testing, deployment, and production support.
• Skill in handling multiple interdependent workstreams with overlapping deadlines.
• Excellent organizational, communication, facilitation, and problem-solving abilities.
• Confidence to challenge vague requirements, unrealistic timelines, and unresolved risks constructively.
• A strong sense of ownership and adaptability in dynamic, fast-paced environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience working directly with banks or regulated financial institutions.
• Familiarity with loan operations, agency lending, syndicated loans, or related financial services.
• Experience with APIs, systems integration, data migration, and cloud-based platforms.
• Knowledge of SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001, information security controls, audits, or similar compliance frameworks.
• Proficiency using tools like Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, or comparable project and development management software.
• Relevant industry certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, Certified ScrumMaster, PSM, PMI-ACP, or SAFe.

• Bank implementation progresses according to a clear and realistic delivery plan.
• Stakeholders receive consistent, transparent insights into progress, risks, decisions, and forthcoming steps.
• Sprints have well-defined objectives, adequately prepared backlogs, and predictable deliverables.
• Testing coverage is comprehensive, with defect issues managed until resolution.
• Releases are secured, reliable, controlled, and ready for operations.
• Security and compliance initiatives, including SOC 2 Type II, remain coordinated and on schedule.
• Internal and external teams collaborate effectively with clear accountability and minimal ambiguity.
