Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior Planning Engineer based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to ensure smooth and efficient progress of construction projects by planning, managing, and optimizing project schedules.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and update detailed project schedules utilizing Primavera P6 and similar advanced planning tools.
• Evaluate project timelines, resource allocations, and task dependencies to identify risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Work closely with project managers, site engineers, and subcontractors to collect precise data required for schedule adjustments.
• Track project advancements and identify discrepancies between planned versus actual performance metrics.
• Generate and deliver regular progress reports to stakeholders, emphasizing critical milestones and foreseeable risks.
• Analyse and optimize resource allocation, including manpower and equipment, to enhance project efficiency.
• Contribute to recovery strategies when projects experience delays to bring them back on track.
• Adhere to local building codes and regulations applicable in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
• Participate actively in project meetings and support strategic decision-making processes.
• Maintain thorough documentation of all planning files and their modifications.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related disciplines.
• At least 12 years’ experience in planning engineering with a focus on mixed-use building projects.
• Demonstrated success managing large-scale construction project schedules.
• Proficiency with Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project for project scheduling.
• Knowledgeable in Building Information Modeling (BIM) software and AutoCAD essentials.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities coupled with keen attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Skilled in Microsoft Office applications.
• Deep understanding of mixed-use development workflows and regulatory requirements.
• Acquainted with building codes and standards relevant to Saudi Arabia.
• Awareness of sustainable construction practices and LEED certification procedures.
• Professional Engineering (PE) license is desirable.
• Possession of Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is an added advantage.
• Capability to perform effectively in a fast-moving and dynamic work setting.
