Job Overview

The Safety Officer will oversee and ensure compliance with client safety policies, standards, and objectives within the project. This role involves supervising all health and safety aspects, reviewing relevant HSE documentation such as plans and emergency preparedness strategies, and providing expert advice and support to clients, supervisors, and employees to help them meet their health and safety obligations.

Key Responsibilities

• Guarantee adherence to client safety policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines.
• Supervise all health and safety-related activities within the project.
• Review and assess available HSE documents including emergency preparedness plans.
• Offer guidance and support to clients, supervisors, and staff on health and safety responsibilities.
• Ensure implementation of the latest work zone traffic management guidelines.
• Conduct safety appraisals for contractors by evaluating safety documents and systems.
• Define, implement, and manage the production of all health and safety reports.
• Ensure full compliance with health and safety policies and any new work instructions.

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma holder in NEBOSH, OSHA, or an equivalent qualification.
• Membership with Grad IOSH or Tech IOSH.
• Certification in temporary traffic management operations.
• Possession of a Qatar driving license is advantageous.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in health and safety roles.
• Proficient verbal and written communication skills in English are essential.
