Job description
Overview
The Senior Planning Engineer is responsible for the comprehensive planning, scheduling, progress tracking, verification, and reporting required to ensure the successful delivery of assigned projects from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and schedule projects within the Oil & Gas sector, notably large capital or portfolio assignments involving onshore brownfield and greenfield developments including gas processing facilities, refineries, and pipelines.
- Manage the entire lifecycle of EPC projects covering engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases.
- Coordinate pre-commissioning and commissioning activities with detailed system handover plans.
- Develop and oversee shutdown schedules covering pre-shutdown work, the shutdown itself, and post-shutdown processes.
- Perform project control functions such as scheduling, phasing, progress monitoring, forecasting, trend analysis, risk evaluation, claim analysis, and progress verification.
Requirements
- At least 15 years' experience in planning major Oil & Gas projects including both brownfield and greenfield onshore operations.
- Preferably at least 5 years of experience working in National or International Oil Companies.
- Hands-on experience with EPC project lifecycles and shutdown planning.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, Primavera Project Control software, with additional skills in Primavera Risk Analysis and Power BI considered an advantage.
- Experience working within the GCC region is favored.
- Strong analytical capabilities and reporting skills.
- Bachelor of Science or equivalent degree in Engineering.
- Certification such as PMP or similar professional credentials preferred.
