Senior Patch Engineer – Windows / EUC

Overview

Our client is recruiting a Senior Patch Engineer specializing in Windows and EUC technologies to join their Riyadh-based team on-site. This role requires extensive experience managing enterprise Windows patch deployment and endpoint management within a robust IT infrastructure.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Oversee the monthly security and cumulative patching processes for Windows servers and client endpoints.
• Develop and implement patch deployment strategies using SCCM/MECM platforms.
• Manage and administer patching for Windows Server and client operating systems.
• Create and manage deployment collections, maintenance windows, and patch baselines to streamline update procedures.
• Conduct comprehensive patch testing, pilot deployments, full production rollouts, and perform validation tasks post-deployment.
• Administrate patching and updates for third-party applications effectively.
• Continuously monitor deployment statuses, promptly troubleshooting failures to ensure consistent compliance.
• Ensure endpoint patch compliance and execute remediation measures when required.
• Collaborate closely with application and infrastructure teams to coordinate patch-related activities.
• Diagnose and resolve issues related to Windows updates, SCCM agents, deployments, and installations.
• Prepare detailed reports on patch compliance and overall patch management to track progress and bottlenecks.
• Contribute to vulnerability remediation efforts with relevant technical expertise.
• Participate actively in change management and Change Advisory Board (CAB) processes to maintain IT governance standards.

Required Skills and Experience

• 7 to over 10 years experience supporting Windows infrastructure and End User Computing environments.
• Proficient in SCCM/MECM for enterprise patch deployment.
• Advanced administration skills with Windows Server versions 2016, 2019, and 2022.
• Expertise in Windows 10 and 11 enterprise administration.
• In-depth knowledge of WSUS and Windows Update mechanisms.
• Experienced in patching third-party applications and managing their updates.
• Competent in PowerShell scripting for automation of patching tasks.
• Knowledgeable in Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP configurations.
• Preferably has hands-on experience with vulnerability remediation tools.
• Familiarity with ITIL frameworks and change management procedures is desirable.
