Solution/Application Architect

Role Overview

This position combines the duties of a solution and application architect with practical technical and research & development responsibilities. The successful candidate will be accountable for the design and assurance of solutions within designated applications or domains, while actively participating in modernization efforts, proof-of-concept creations, enhancements in engineering practices, and initiatives involving emerging technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage solution architecture for specific applications, focusing on creating scalable, resilient, and maintainable systems.
• Engage in technical grooming sessions, assess feasibility, and contribute to high-level and low-level design and validation.
• Define and evaluate APIs, integration techniques, microservices, and event-driven architectures.
• Guarantee key non-functional requirements such as performance, scalability, reliability, security, and system observability.
• Evaluate technical choices and assist in making architecture-related decisions.
• Identify opportunities for modernization, optimization, and development of reusable solutions.
• Create and assess proofs of concept to confirm design decisions and test new technologies.
• Support initiatives in engineering automation, artificial intelligence enablement, and research and development.
• Work collaboratively with teams across development, software design, integration, DevOps, security, and other technical disciplines.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Extensive experience with Java and Spring Boot frameworks.
• Expertise in application and solution architecture, particularly microservices.
• In-depth knowledge of REST APIs, API design principles, and integration patterns.
• Proficient understanding of data access layers, including JPA/Hibernate.
• Experience working with Oracle RDBMS, PostgreSQL, Redis, and Oracle NoSQL databases.
• Knowledge of Kafka and event-driven system architecture.
• Awareness of critical system qualities including performance, scalability, resilience, security, and observability.
• Exposure to containerization technologies, continuous integration and deployment pipelines, DevSecOps, and modern engineering methodologies.
• Strong analytical and communication skills combined with solution design expertise.
• Familiarity with .NET technologies.
• Experience with cloud-native environments and Kubernetes orchestration.
• Exposure to artificial intelligence, large language models, and engineering automation.
• Background in modernization strategies and transforming legacy systems into microservices-based architecture.
