Senior Oracle Database Administrator

About the Role

Join DXC Technology as a Senior Oracle Database Administrator based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. With 8 to 10 years of specialized experience, you will oversee critical database systems both on-premises and within Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). This role encompasses full lifecycle database management, including installation, patching, tuning, high availability setup, disaster recovery, security, and automation.

Key Duties

• Install, configure, and administer Oracle Database versions 19c, 21c, and 23ai across platforms like Oracle Linux, RHEL, Solaris, and AIX.
• Manage Oracle RAC, RAC One Node, Clusterware components, ASM disk groups with storage allocation and rebalancing.
• Apply patches and updates with minimal downtime using OPatch and related tools.
• Control networking elements such as listeners, database links, and Oracle Grid Infrastructure.
• Administer Oracle Multitenant architecture, including container and pluggable databases.
• Handle OCI database provisioning and management for DB Systems, Exadata services including Cloud and Cloud@Customer, and Autonomous Database instances.
• Automate lifecycle operations using Terraform with OCI provider and OCI CLI tools.
• Configure secure networking setups including private subnets and security groups within OCI.
• Manage data backups to OCI Object Storage, establishing automated backup policies.
• Maintain Oracle application databases such as E-Business Suite, Siebel CRM, Billing & Revenue Management, and integrations with Oracle Fusion Cloud.
• Implement and monitor high availability and disaster recovery strategies using Data Guard, RMAN, GoldenGate, and Flashback technologies.
• Perform detailed performance diagnostics and tuning with AWR, ASH, ADDM, SQL tuning tools, and manage resource allocation and concurrency.
• Enforce database security through Transparent Data Encryption, Database Vault, auditing, user and role management.
• Develop automation scripts in Bash, Python, and PL/SQL for operational tasks.
• Use Oracle Enterprise Manager 13c Cloud Control for monitoring and compliance management.
• Create and maintain documentation, runbooks, and disaster recovery plans, while also participating in on-call and incident resolution activities.
• Collaborate with architects, application teams, and mentor juniors in the team.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

• 8 to 10 years of comprehensive Oracle Database Administration experience across on-premises and OCI environments.
• In-depth expertise with Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, RMAN, Grid Infrastructure, and Multitenant technologies.
• Proven experience supporting Oracle applications such as E-Business Suite, Siebel CRM, BRM, or Oracle Fusion Cloud integrations.
• Hands-on skills with OCI Database Services including Exadata Cloud and Autonomous Database solutions.
• Strong performance tuning capabilities using Oracle diagnostic and advisory tools.
• Practical knowledge of Oracle GoldenGate for data replication and migration.
• Proficient in scripting with Bash and Python for automation purposes.
• Familiarity with Oracle Enterprise Manager 13c and Oracle Linux/RHEL environments.
• Excellent communication skills for documentation and stakeholder coordination.

Preferred Attributes

• Certifications related to Oracle Database, RAC, OCI, or cloud database services.
• Experience with Oracle Zero Data Loss Recovery Appliance and Terraform automation.
• Knowledge of database deployment tools like Liquibase or Flyway.
• Understanding of Oracle Maximum Availability Architecture and 23ai features.
• Exposure to Oracle Integration Cloud, Data Masking, and Subsetting techniques.
• ITIL Foundation certification or similar service management qualifications.
• Background in managed services, telecom, or consulting sectors.
