Job description
Overview
Systems Arabia is seeking a skilled Engineer specialized in administering and operating IBM Cloud Pak for Integration (CP4I) on Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (RHOCP). The role involves designing, deploying, securing, and maintaining these platforms within hybrid cloud environments to ensure high availability and dynamic automated pipeline scalability.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and configure Red Hat OpenShift clusters across hybrid clouds, including provisioning IBM CP4I using Operator Lifecycle Managers (OLM).
- Manage lifecycle and configurations of primary CP4I components such as IBM MQ, API Connect, App Connect (ACE), Event Streams (Kafka), and Aspera via IBM operators.
- Enforce security on cluster infrastructures by managing Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), OpenShift OAuth, Keycloak/IAM identity layers, and SSL/TLS certificate implementations.
- Architect and maintain container persistent storage using Software-Defined Storage solutions and conduct seamless upgrades, patching, and node updates without causing downtime.
- Set up Application Performance Monitoring (APM) dashboards, automate multi-tenant provisioning leveraging GitOps methodologies, and troubleshoot complex cluster degradation issues including volume failures and pod networking losses.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Extensive hands-on experience managing production Red Hat OpenShift clusters and administrating IBM CP4I modules.
- In-depth knowledge of Software-Defined Networking (SDN/OVN), ingress/route setups, Istio service meshes, network policies, and container security scanning tools.
- Strong understanding of enterprise integration patterns, containerized messaging queue systems, and API lifecycle management techniques.
- Excellent analytical skills and capability to debug container logs and optimize compute resource sizing effectively.
- Proficiency with core technologies including RHOCP, OKD, Kubernetes, CoreOS, IBM CP4I components such as IBM MQ, API Connect, ACE, Event Streams, and DataPower.
- Experience with programming and command-line tools such as Linux CLI, Bash, Python scripting, OpenShift CLI (oc), and kubectl.
- Familiarity with storage and networking solutions including Red Hat OpenShift Data Foundation (ODF), Ceph, Portworx, CSI drivers, AWS EBS/EFS.
- Competence in using infrastructure and dependency management tools like Ansible, Terraform, ArgoCD, Helm, Customize, Operator Lifecycle Managers (OLM), Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Tekton, Prometheus, Grafana, OpenShift Logging, and Sysdig.
- Knowledge of enterprise project tracking software such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or Microsoft TFS.
- Ability to maintain high availability while troubleshooting and implementing mitigation strategies under pressure.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate within remote and hybrid environments and translate complex infrastructure topics into actionable deployment procedures.
- Advocate for automation, infrastructure-as-code standards, platform compliance, and reducing manual configuration errors.
- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a closely related technical field is required.
- Fluency in English (both written and spoken) is mandatory. Proficiency in Arabic, both written and oral, is highly desirable and preferred.
