About SLR Consulting and the Role
SLR Consulting is a respected global environmental consultancy known for delivering customised environmental, sustainability, and design solutions. Our expanding team in the APAC region includes the Brisbane-based Landscape Architecture group situated centrally by the Brisbane River. This team is part of our internationally acclaimed Landscape Architectural, Visual Amenity, and Urban Design units across Australia, the UK, and the Americas, managing diverse and stimulating projects nationwide.
Role Summary
We are seeking a qualified and registered Senior Landscape Architect with approximately 7 to 10 years of experience for a permanent, full-time position within the Brisbane Landscape Architecture and Urban Design Team. The role offers a flexible workplace environment and the opportunity to integrate within a collaborative, quality-driven culture known as One Team.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee a broad spectrum of projects including landscape architecture, visual assessments, master planning, and urban design, managing all aspects from delivery and resource allocation to budget and deadline adherence.
- Foster and maintain strong client relationships; handle proposals, prepare reports, landscape documentation, and oversee construction administration tasks.
- Ensure the consistent achievement of high-caliber technical outputs across varied projects by delivering thoughtful landscape architecture solutions.
- Contribute to nurturing a positive and relaxed team culture.
- Advocate for design excellence throughout every project phase by engaging in design reviews, strategic discussions, and promoting innovative, quality landscape and placemaking results aligned with clients' needs and industry standards.
- Identify and expand both internal and external stakeholder relationships to encourage repeat business and broaden SLR's sector presence.
- Meet commercial performance objectives including revenue goals and utilization rates through strong service delivery and efficient project management.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Formal qualifications recognized by the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects (AILA).
- Current AILA registration as a Registered Landscape Architect.
- Demonstrated technical expertise and genuine passion for high-quality landscape design, sustainability, and environmental outcomes with collaborative work ethos.
- Approximately 7 to 10 years of experience in consultancy or similar landscape-focused environments.
- Creative problem-solving skills with an emphasis on sustainability and cultural awareness in designs.
- Strong communication abilities to effectively engage with clients, professionals, and leadership of project teams.
- Commitment to mentoring junior staff while being receptive to learning from senior colleagues.
- Motivation and dedication towards playing an integral role across various project stages from proposals through site administration.
- Proven ability to develop and maintain robust professional relationships.
- Devotion to environmental, cultural, and social responsibility reflected in design outputs.
- Excellent graphic presentation capabilities.
- Proficient in AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Holds a valid Australian Driver’s Licence and possesses citizenship or lawful right to work in Australia.
