Role Overview

The Intelligence team at CrowdStrike seeks a Senior Software Engineer to build and maintain critical processing pipelines, data storage, and presentation layers that empower analysts and researchers. The Intelligence Automation group designs, prototypes, and operates key systems integral to large-scale data collection and processing within the Intelligence mission.

This role involves designing robust, distributed architectures with flexibility for a dynamic environment where priorities and project durations may fluctuate. The engineer will be responsible for end-to-end software lifecycle activities—from initial architecture and prototyping through development, production deployment, documentation, and user training.

The role offers freedom to select appropriate technology stacks based on diverse prior experience, including programming languages, database technologies, network protocols, and messaging systems.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Intelligence and Technical Analysts to gather and analyze requirements.
• Maintain both newly developed and legacy systems for the Intelligence pipeline.
• Develop solutions independently, translating from broad mission goals to detailed technical specifications.
• Design, implement, and optimize systems balancing rapid development needs with scalability and performance targets.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent academic or professional background.
• Proven multi-year experience in software engineering roles.
• Expertise developing scalable, distributed, production-quality services.
• Strong proficiency in Linux environments and container technologies.
• Experienced hands-on in multiple programming languages.
• Solid understanding of SQL and NoSQL database systems.
• Familiarity with cloud computing technologies.
• Capability to maintain and extend existing Go and Python codebases.
• Ability to clearly communicate complex technical information to diverse audiences, including management and peers.
• Independent decision-making skills and initiative-taking in technical contexts.
• Strong organizational and prioritization abilities for autonomous work management.
• Experience collaborating within geographically dispersed, diverse teams.
• Demonstrated use of AI solutions to improve decision-making, automate processes, and boost operational effectiveness.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of AWS or Google Cloud Platform services such as EC2, S3, VPC, and ECS.
• Experience creating web user interfaces, especially Single-Page Applications.
• Skill in developing well-structured and documented HTTP APIs.
• Background in malware analysis or reverse engineering software.
• Practical offensive cybersecurity skills, such as participation in capture-the-flag competitions.
