Since its founding in 2011, CrowdStrike has committed to preventing security breaches, leveraging an AI-native platform acclaimed as the most advanced in modern security. Handling immense distributed systems, processing nearly 3 trillion daily events, CrowdStrike serves customers from diverse industries, helping them maintain operations, secure communities, and progress forward. Role Overview
This leadership position focuses on technical sales. The Manager will steer the Enterprise Sales Engineering team, directing the technical sales strategy within their territory and uniting all technical expertise to support customer engagements. Partnering closely with the Regional Sales Director, the Manager owns the territory's technical endeavors, managing technical campaigns that secure wins backed by thorough qualification, resourcing, and evidence collection. The role entails roughly 25% outward-facing activities including speaking at industry and customer events, leading executive forums, and creating impactful technical content to shape market perspectives on security. Candidates in Sydney or Canberra are welcome to apply for this hybrid role.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the technical sales initiatives: develop and own the territory’s technical sales strategy, drive the technical narrative in forecasting, deal assessments, and business evaluations.
- Ensure technical evaluations are well-defined before commencement by approving hypotheses, success criteria, and evaluation plans; conduct routine progress inspections.
- Oversee the quality and completion of evaluations, ensuring documentation of proof against success criteria and proper technical win sign-off.
- Maintain up-to-date and accurate qualification and opportunity records to support confident business forecasting.
- Analyze pipeline health, technical risks, market competition, and capability gaps, delivering leadership insights and strategic recommendations.
- Coordinate all technical resources for customers, acting as the central contact to provide a seamless experience involving sales engineers, specialists, intelligence, services, support, and partner teams.
- Facilitate collaboration with product management and engineering teams to resolve technical barriers promptly and effectively.
- Monitor team capacity and priorities, delegate appropriately, and proactively communicate any risks concerning resources or capabilities.
- Support partners and distributors in managing technical evaluations and confidently representing the platform.
- Manage the team through operational leadership: performance reviews, career development, coaching with clear plans, and growth opportunities through challenging tasks and executive exposure.
- Develop enablement initiatives for new capabilities, ensuring readiness of sales counterparts to promote and support the platform effectively.
- Personally lead senior technical interactions, using industry insights to influence client security strategies beyond product capabilities.
- Represent the company externally by presenting at events, facilitating executive discussions, authoring market-related materials, and supporting media and analyst engagements.
- Continuously monitor competitive and market trends to enhance technical strategies and enablement.
- Maintain an ongoing partnership with sales leadership to align strategies, review pipelines, manage technical risks, and jointly prepare for customer/business reviews to surpass territory targets.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
- Proven leadership in technical sales or pre-sales, managing distributed teams effectively.
- Extensive pre-sales experience complemented by strong cybersecurity knowledge across endpoint, identity, cloud, and modern security operations.
- Successful history of managing complex enterprise evaluations to technical wins while preserving scope and quality under pressure.
- Ability to communicate and engage credibly from technical architects to C-level executives like CISOs and CIOs within the same meeting.
- Public presence in the industry demonstrated through conference presentations, executive panels, or published technical viewpoints.
- Exceptional written communication skills capable of producing polished customer and market-facing documents.
- Disciplined approach to execution, setting and managing expectations with senior stakeholders and ensuring commitments are met.
- Experience collaborating with channel partners and distributors.
- Willingness and ability to travel within the territory for customer and team engagement.
- Demonstrated use of AI technologies to optimize decision-making, improve workflows, and bolster business results.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in operator-side security or technology roles.
- Understanding of adversary tactics, common malware types, and evasive techniques.
- Experience applying formal structured enterprise qualification processes.
- Relevant tertiary education and security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, GIAC, Security+, CEH).
Employee Benefits
- Industry-leading compensation and equity programs.
- Comprehensive support for physical and mental wellness.
- Competitive vacation and holiday offerings for rest and recovery.
- Paid parental and adoption leaves.
- Opportunities for professional growth across all levels.
- Supportive networks and community building via employee groups and neighborhood initiatives.
- Dynamic office culture with premium amenities.
- Certified Great Place to Work globally.
