Team Overview

The Enterprise Planning and Implementation Group is newly formed to enhance planning, coordination, and delivery effectiveness across the organisation. Within this group, the Regulatory Intelligence team gathers and analyses information to understand risk, detect emerging issues, and aid data-driven decision making. The team collaborates internally and externally to supply intelligence for regulatory activities on strategic, tactical, and operational levels.

Role Summary

As a Senior Intelligence Analyst based preferably in Wellington (though candidates from any WorkSafe office location are welcome), you will craft and lead the delivery of intelligence that shapes organisational priorities and regulatory actions. Using multiple data sources, you will interpret patterns and risks, produce superior intelligence products, and provide expert guidance to support decisions throughout the organisation. This role gives you the opportunity to apply your analytical skills to improving workplace safety throughout New Zealand.

Key Duties

• Create intelligence products to inform strategic and operational decision making.
• Lead and oversee intelligence gathering and analytical methodologies.
• Identify gaps in intelligence and manage relevant data collection processes.
• Offer expert advice on intelligence techniques and tools.
• Establish and nurture collaborative partnerships with government and stakeholders.
• Translate complex data into clear, actionable intelligence.

Required Abilities and Experience

• Proven experience delivering high-quality intelligence outputs.
• Strong knowledge of intelligence analysis frameworks and best practices.
• Exceptional analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to influence and inform decisions effectively through clear communication.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to build diverse stakeholder relationships.
• Qualifications in intelligence, criminology, analytics, or related fields are preferred.

Salary and Benefits

The expected base salary ranges from NZD 112,754 to 124,480, excluding employer contributions to KiwiSaver or SSRSS. From April 1, 2026, KiwiSaver employer contributions will increase to 3.5%.
