Senior Automation Test Engineer

Role Overview

We are seeking a proactive Senior Quality Engineer with expertise in performance testing, automation, and DevSecOps to lead software quality initiatives across critical projects. This role requires developing testing strategies, building scalable automation frameworks, and ensuring outstanding application performance within modern DevSecOps pipelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead comprehensive quality strategy formulation, test architecture design, and quality governance for projects.
• Create and sustain scalable automated testing frameworks integrated within CI/CD pipelines.
• Conduct performance, load, and stress testing to confirm system scalability, security, and efficiency.
• Collaborate effectively with development, security, and operations teams to embed security and quality controls early in the software development lifecycle.

Required Skills and Experience

• Minimum of 5 years in senior-level software testing or quality assurance consultancy roles.
• Proficient with testing frameworks such as Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, or Appium, and programming languages including Python, Java, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Hands-on experience with performance testing tools like JMeter, k6, or Gatling.
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, and Jenkins, including the integration of security checks into automation pipelines.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted testing tools and frameworks is an advantage.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities to assist clients during quality transformation processes.
• Experience within Financial Services, Government, Insurance sectors, or large-scale Enterprise Digital Transformation programs in New Zealand.

Additional Information

• Contract duration: 6 months.
• Position based in Wellington, New Zealand.
• Start date: January or February 2027.
