About the Role

Join a leading engineering consultancy dedicated to tackling the world's toughest water, resources, and infrastructure challenges. As a Senior Groundwater Modeller, you'll be part of a dynamic Asia Pacific groundwater modelling team, working on impactful projects across Australia, New Zealand, and the Philippines. Collaborate with top hydrogeologists, geotechnical experts, and water specialists on diverse, large-scale technically sophisticated projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead detailed groundwater impact studies and regional groundwater modelling initiatives.
  • Oversee integrated surface water and groundwater modelling projects.
  • Employ advanced numerical modelling techniques to resolve complex technical problems.
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams spanning water resources, mining, transport, geotechnical, and contaminated land sectors.
  • Manage projects end-to-end—from proposals through to delivery—ensuring client satisfaction and quality standards.
  • Mentor junior groundwater professionals, fostering skill development within the team.
  • Establish and maintain strong client relationships and support business growth opportunities across the region.
  • Engage in continuous professional development through targeted training and technical mentorship programs.
  • Contribute to strengthening the company's regional groundwater modelling expertise and leadership.

Candidate Profile

  • Holds a Master’s degree or higher in Hydrogeology or possesses equivalent professional experience.
  • Brings over a decade of experience specifically in numerical groundwater modelling.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in delivering complex groundwater modelling assignments.
  • Skilled in numerical groundwater flow models such as MODFLOW, FEFLOW, and associated tools.
  • Programming expertise, particularly in Python and FloPy, for automation and data handling.
  • Experience with model calibration, uncertainty analyses, and PEST-based workflows.
  • Strong project management skills coupled with effective stakeholder engagement abilities.
  • A collaborative team player passionate about mentoring and professional development.

Preferred Experience

Experience in surface water-groundwater interactions, solute transport modelling, major mining, or large infrastructure projects is highly valued.
