Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior GIS/CAD Technician to join our team in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia. This role involves leading GIS-related tasks and providing expert geospatial support throughout our projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Head GIS operations, managing and maintaining comprehensive project GIS databases and geodatabases.
• Gather, process, verify, analyze, and visually present spatial data effectively.
• Keep up-to-date GIS layers covering project infrastructure including utilities, buildings, roads, pavements, drainage systems, and other assets.
• Incorporate various data inputs such as survey, CAD, BIM, GPS, satellite, drone, and field-collected data into GIS platforms for seamless integration.
• Ensure that all spatial data is accurately georeferenced and conforms with the approved coordinate systems.
• Conduct thorough reviews of GIS datasets to guarantee accuracy, completeness, consistency, and adherence to project standards.
• Set and uphold GIS data standards, including naming conventions, metadata management, and data architecture.
• Execute spatial analyses to support engineering, construction, planning, logistics, and asset management efforts.
• Create and sustain GIS maps, drawings, dashboards, and various visualization products.
• Assist project teams with spatial data inquiries, analyses, and geospatial informational needs.
• Collaborate with surveying teams to ensure precise spatial controls and coordinate benchmarks.
• Work with BIM teams to merge BIM models with GIS datasets where necessary, and support systems integration involving GIS, BIM, CAD, CDE, and asset management platforms.
• Handle data conversions between different GIS, CAD, and engineering software formats.
• Manage the import, export, editing, cleanup, and transformation of geospatial datasets while maintaining metadata and ensuring traceability.
• Identify gaps, inconsistencies, duplication, and spatial conflicts in data and carry out GIS quality assurance with corrective measures as needed.
• Facilitate the development of automated GIS workflows and data management processes.
• Provide expert guidance and mentorship to junior GIS staff and project teams.
• Prepare comprehensive GIS reports, maps, dashboards, and technical presentations.
• Maintain GIS registers, data inventories, issue logs, and quality control reports.
• Support digital handovers and asset information requirements, ensuring GIS data remains updated throughout design, construction, commissioning, and handover phases.
• Specialize in airport and infrastructure-related GIS datasets, managing spatial data for terminals, airfield facilities, runways, taxiways, aprons, roads, utilities, drainage, and external infrastructure.
• Assist in managing airport-wide spatial information and infrastructure databases.

Mandatory Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in GIS, Geomatics, Surveying, Geography, Civil Engineering, IT, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in GIS, geospatial data management, infrastructure mapping, or digital engineering.
• Extensive background with large infrastructure projects including airports, transportation, utilities, or multidisciplinary constructions.
• Advanced proficiency in GIS platforms such as ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, or ArcGIS Enterprise.
• Deep understanding of geodatabases, spatial analysis, GIS data management, and visualization techniques.

Preferred Skills

• Expertise in GIS and geospatial information management.
• Hands-on experience with ArcGIS Pro, Enterprise, and Online products.
• Skilled in performing spatial analysis and managing geodatabases.
• Competent in GIS data quality assurance processes.
• Experienced in mapping of infrastructure and utilities.
• Working knowledge of integrating CAD and engineering data, including AutoCAD and Civil 3D, is highly advantageous.
