Job Overview
UCC Holding is inviting applications for a Senior Geologist Manager to oversee geological evaluation, exploration, appraisal, and field development activities within its Upstream Oil & Gas segment. The role demands providing technical leadership across subsurface studies, basin evaluation, reservoir characterization, prospect generation, and resource assessments supporting strategic exploration and production goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct regional and detailed geological studies for exploration, appraisal, and development projects.
- Conduct analyses involving structural geology, stratigraphy, sedimentology, and petroleum systems.
- Identify and develop prospective exploration opportunities through integrated subsurface interpretations.
- Combine geological, geophysical, petrophysical, and reservoir engineering data to characterize reservoirs and plan field development.
- Perform volumetric calculations, resource and reserve estimation, and evaluate geological risks.
- Offer technical validation and guidance regarding exploration acreage, farm-ins, acquisitions, and development initiatives.
- Assist in well planning, drilling operations, and post-well analysis.
- Lead multidisciplinary subsurface teams and provide mentorship to geoscientists.
- Ensure all activities comply with industry standards, health, safety, and environmental requirements, and follow optimal geological practices.
Technical Qualifications
- Comprehensive knowledge in basin analysis, structural geology, stratigraphy, sedimentology, and petroleum geology.
- Expertise in prospect generation, play fairway analytics, reservoir characterization, and geological modeling techniques.
- Practical experience using software such as Petrel, Kingdom, GeoGraphix, DecisionSpace, ArcGIS, or their equivalents.
- Understanding of various reservoir types including clastic, carbonate, fractured reservoirs, and unconventional resource plays.
- Experience integrating seismic interpretation, well log data, core sample analysis, and production performance metrics.
- Proven skills in estimating reserves and resources aligning with international reporting standards.
Education and Experience
- Degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, or a closely related field required; Master's degree preferred.
- At least 15 years of professional experience within the Upstream Oil & Gas industry.
- Track record with leading International Oil Companies, National Oil Companies, or major Exploration & Production firms.
- Demonstrated leadership in managing geological teams and high-value exploration and development portfolios.
