Retail Store Manager

Overview

Join Vision Ireland's dedicated team as a Retail Store Manager based at the Tuam store in County Galway. This permanent, full-time role involves managing a 37.5-hour workweek and reporting directly to the Retail Area Manager. Vision Ireland operates a network of 130 stores nationwide, supporting over 55,000 clients with sight loss across Ireland by raising funds for vital services.

Role Summary

As the Store Manager, you will lead a motivated team to achieve strong sales and revenue growth while ensuring excellent customer service and compliance with retail standards. Your duties will encompass monitoring financial KPIs such as sales performance, wage control, and shrinkage prevention. Additionally, you will uphold visual merchandising standards, handle administrative procedures, and maintain a clean and professional store environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Achieve and surpass ongoing store sales targets consistently.
• Maintain attractive visual merchandising aligned with weekly updates and promotional events.
• Oversee recruitment, training, and development of staff, volunteers, and social activation scheme participants to foster a positive team culture focused on customer satisfaction.
• Ensure sufficient staffing to address daily and weekly trading needs effectively.
• Guarantee product quality and maintain store cleanliness and professional appearance at all times.
• Manage donated goods with careful attention to presentation, pricing, cleaning, and stock rotation.
• Handle all financial procedures including banking, till management, transaction accuracy, and cash handling compliance.
• Assume responsibility for the security and inventory of store equipment and premises.
• Lead and support store and community fundraising initiatives actively.
• Promote the Vision Ireland brand locally through cost-effective communication strategies that align with brand guidelines.
• Ensure health and safety compliance, including training, fire safety protocol adherence, and maintenance of safety and first aid equipment.
