Role Overview
The Senior Full Stack Engineer on the Designer Team will partner closely with developers, product managers, designers, and cross-functional teams to deliver and maintain scalable, reliable, and high-performance full stack solutions amidst complex systems in a dynamic setting. This team is responsible for building and supporting enterprise-grade, self-service dynamic WYSIWYG content creation tools, as well as real-time rendering pipelines that display the content effectively. The tech stack spans front-end experience and back-end systems including TypeScript, Ruby, Python, Rust, Go, and C++.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership and independently deliver appropriate solutions throughout the system stack from initial design to deployment.
- Write maintainable, reusable, and thoroughly tested code adhering to best practices and idiomatic usage without unnecessary complexity.
- Refactor existing codebases to simplify, reduce technical debt, and minimize operational inefficiencies.
- Develop and enhance tools and processes that increase team efficiency, alignment, and consistency.
- Conduct comprehensive, empathetic code reviews to maintain high code quality and foster collaborative team culture.
- Document your work clearly, pair program, and support teammates by leveraging their strengths.
- Maintain proactive communication with stakeholders and teammates, collaborate strongly across teams, and participate in candidate interviewing and assessment.
Qualifications
- Minimum of five years experience developing and shipping software as a full stack engineer.
- Proven ability to independently implement full stack features in large codebases, comfortably handling creation, extension, refactoring, and maintenance.
- Highly proficient in at least two core programming languages among TypeScript, Ruby, Python, Rust, Go, and C++, with willingness and ability to learn others.
- Experience in creating reusable, adaptable, and well-tested code with strong knowledge of libraries and tools.
- Sound judgment to distinguish necessary features from scope creep and communicate decisions effectively even under ambiguous or incomplete information.
- Strong ownership mindset, awareness of edge cases, and commitment to reducing technical debt.
- Consistently high standards in implementation quality, communication, process adherence, and attitude, including modern patterns and thorough code reviews.
- Collaborative and growth-oriented approach: mentoring colleagues, embracing feedback, and contributing to team development.
Additional Information
Compensation ranges from $130,000 to $182,000 annually, potentially including bonuses and a comprehensive suite of medical, financial, and other employee benefits.
