Senior Financial Analyst

Position Summary

The Business Unit Finance team within CGI's Corporate Finance division plays a vital role in supporting business sector growth and operations by providing essential decision support and financial analysis. We have an opening for a Senior Financial Analyst to join and support the Toronto Financial Services business unit. Reporting to the Finance group, the successful candidate will collaborate with operational leaders and financial colleagues to deliver precise, prompt, and valuable accounting and financial backing.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough analysis of balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy and integrity.
• Support the budgeting and forecasting processes by delivering well-founded and documented financial plans.
• Partner closely with business unit leaders to understand their operations, clarify financial drivers, and critically evaluate their assumptions.
• Provide accurate, insightful, and timely analysis comparing financial results against forecasts and budgets.
• Manage project and client financials in alignment with contract terms, interpreting key contract clauses, understanding their financial consequences, and addressing related technical accounting implications.
• Prepare and present detailed financial results accompanied by meaningful commentary to business stakeholders.
• Handle audit inquiries, contribute to special projects, and promote efficiency by leading continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance; CPA credentials are a plus.
• Three to four years of experience in a comparable business partner financial analyst role.
• Strong analytical abilities combined with the aptitude to communicate effectively with non-finance personnel.
• Demonstrates a robust work ethic and high accountability for producing quality results.
• Proactive in verifying financial data and adept at identifying and resolving issues.
• Comfortable in challenging business assumptions using logical reasoning and critical thinking.
• Highly organized and focused on optimizing business processes.

Compensation and Additional Information

This position has an estimated salary range of $65,000 to $115,000 annually, considering factors such as skill level, location, experience, training, and certifications. This is a current vacancy at CGI.
