Role Overview

The Senior Engineer - Transportation role in Qatar focuses on the planning, designing, and overseeing the delivery of transportation infrastructure projects. This position acts as the main liaison for clients and stakeholders, providing coordination throughout all project phases and ensuring project objectives are met efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive transport planning strategies for urban and regional developments.
• Conduct traffic impact studies, feasibility analyses, and evaluate corridor performance to optimize traffic flow and recommend infrastructure improvements.
• Create detailed engineering designs for roadways, intersections, and other transport facilities.
• Supervise construction activities ensuring adherence to local regulations and international engineering standards.
• Perform site inspections, quality control, and verify project outputs align with specifications.
• Engage with government bodies including Ashghal and the Ministry of Transport & Communications, alongside contractors and consultants, to facilitate project approval and advancement.
• Integrate sustainable and innovative mobility solutions such as multimodal transport strategies and accessibility enhancements in planning phases.
• Prepare comprehensive technical reports, drawings, and presentations for stakeholders while managing timelines, budgets, and quality requirements.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• At least 8 years of transport engineering experience, preferably with significant exposure in Qatar or the Middle East.
• Proven expertise in road geometric design, traffic modeling tools like VISUM and VISSIM, and sustainable transport development.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other relevant design software.
• Strong analytical thinking and effective problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication skills with a capacity to manage and coordinate with diverse stakeholders.
