Kirby Group Engineering invites applications for the role of Senior Electrical Estimator in Galway. Key Responsibilities
- Create detailed cost estimates by compiling comprehensive take-offs aligned with project scopes and inputting data into digital estimating tools, ensuring verification for completeness and precision.
- Interpret Electrical Technical Specifications and Employer Requirements specifically for Design & Build high voltage substations and windfarm projects.
- Coordinate the tendering process across departments, managing timelines to guarantee punctual tender submission.
- Support the assembly of technical tender documentation, including identifying inclusions, exclusions, clarifications, and scheduling of works.
- Oversee the solicitation and evaluation of quotations to ensure comprehensive and accurate costing.
- Simultaneously handle multiple projects, anticipating potential risks and advising the bidding team with recommended mitigations.
- Conduct post-submission follow-ups, documenting feedback accurately and participating in tender review meetings.
- Upon successful contract award, collaborate with Construction Teams to communicate estimation details thoroughly to facilitate smooth project transition.
Candidate Requirements
- Possess a relevant third-level degree in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Construction Economics, Quantity Surveying, or equivalent field.
- Hold a minimum of five years' construction industry experience including at least two years as a Senior Electrical Estimator.
- Demonstrated experience estimating electrical projects exceeding €10 million, ideally within pharmaceutical, industrial, data centre, or commercial sectors.
- Proven leadership and innovative skills in electrical and technical domains.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Capacity to work autonomously and collaboratively within teams.
- Strong management abilities to lead, develop, and retain large teams.
- Exceptional attention to detail paired with multitasking capabilities and excellent organizational skills.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, capable of impactful interactions.
- Effective problem solver with analytical and decisive decision-making abilities.
