Overview
Kirby Group Engineering, a leading international provider of multidisciplinary engineering services, is hiring a Project Planner in Finsterwalde, Germany. This is a permanent full-time role focused on supporting a Data Centre Project through comprehensive planning and efficient project delivery. Primary Responsibilities
- Coordinate with Project Managers, engineers, and commercial teams to ensure projects meet deadlines, quality standards, and budgets.
- Analyze contract documents to identify critical scheduling and tracking requirements.
- Create detailed construction schedules based on high-level target schedules and work breakdown structures.
- Negotiate schedules with clients and coordinate with main contractors to produce integrated construction timelines.
- Apply labor and resource metrics to schedules based on commercial data on hours and quantities.
- Develop customized trackers and reporting templates to monitor project progress.
- Measure weekly progress and efficiency in collaboration with site teams and validate with commercial teams periodically.
- Identify and communicate potential risks and bottlenecks continuously to project stakeholders.
- Act as planning contact for project management and support bid scheduling processes as needed.
- Lead planning meetings and ensure contract requirements for scheduling and reporting are satisfied.
- Optimize build schedules, managing discrepancies with contractors and producing labor-loaded schedules and S-curves aligned with budgets.
- Develop negotiation strategies regarding scheduling risks to protect company interests.
- Provide ongoing risk identification and mitigation support throughout project phases.
- Monitor progress and labor efficiency, providing early warnings and improvement advice to project teams.
- Organize and facilitate weekly look-ahead meetings onsite with site managers.
- Compile and distribute periodic internal and external progress reports and dashboards.
Requirements
- A tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or equivalent technical experience with a strong trades background.
- 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in planning, implementing project schedules, monitoring, and controlling project progress.
- Ability to produce comprehensive project plans using design and commercial inputs.
- Proficiency with scheduling tools such as Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or equivalent, along with advanced Microsoft Office skills and excellent report writing ability.
- Strong time management skills to effectively handle demanding schedules and reporting requirements.
