Role Overview

This full-time position, based in South Melbourne, VIC, requires an Electrical Estimator to generate comprehensive cost estimates for electrical projects in commercial and industrial sectors. Responsibilities include analyzing drawings, specifications, and tender documents; performing quantity take-offs; sourcing and assessing supplier and subcontractor quotations; and formulating precise project budgets. The role demands close cooperation with project managers and engineers to clarify scopes, identify cost-saving opportunities, and assist with bid preparations. Additionally, the estimator supports cost control during project execution, maintains detailed estimating records and databases, and helps improve estimating procedures continuously.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Demonstrated expertise in Electrical Estimating, including crafting detailed cost breakdowns and tender proposals.
• Experience in budget monitoring and cost control for construction or electrical installation projects.
• Background in Electrical Contracting with practical knowledge of commercial and industrial electrical installation protocols.
• Thorough understanding of electrical systems, relevant regulations, codes, and safety standards.
• Educational qualification in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical training accompanied by relevant industry experience.
• Ability to interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and construction documentation accurately.
• Proficiency in estimating software tools and Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
• Strong analytical aptitude, meticulous attention to detail, and capability to meet tight deadlines within a dynamic work environment.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills for effective collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Previous experience in estimating for commercial, industrial, or large-scale construction endeavors highly desirable.
