Position Overview

The role of Junior Quantity Surveyor offers a permanent opportunity backed by a substantial portfolio of projects expected to span over five years. This position is ideal for recent graduates or those beginning their career in quantity surveying who aspire to engage beyond desk duties and data entry, gaining hands-on commercial and construction experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with project and planning teams to evaluate project progress and commercial performance.
  • Assist in identifying, preparing, and assessing variations and contract modifications.
  • Help prepare, submit, and track interim and final financial accounts.
  • Support claims management and facilitate commercial negotiations as needed.
  • Ensure timely preparation and issuance of payment certificates.
  • Maintain precise commercial documentation, including claims, certificates, variations, and retention records.
  • Monitor retention payments and support their recovery upon maturity.
  • Engage with clients and stakeholders regarding commercial aspects.
  • Develop comprehension of contract conditions, client responsibilities, and strategies for commercial risk management.
  • Record all completed work thoroughly, categorizing under relevant commercial headings.
  • Contribute to identifying and evaluating escalations in labor, materials, and costs.
  • Generate detailed commercial reports for project teams and senior management.

Candidate Profile

  • Possess a degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, Commercial Management, or a related field.
  • Exhibit strong numerical and analytical capabilities.
