Role Overview

The Manager, Safe Fleet Process Owner at Johnson & Johnson MedTech, located in Ringaskiddy, County Cork, Ireland, is responsible for managing and enhancing global fleet and road safety initiatives. This position ensures compliance with safety regulations, mitigates transportation risks, and drives continuous improvements in fleet safety performance to protect employees, contractors, and the public. The role involves collaborating cross-functionally to align with business objectives and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, execute, and uphold global fleet and road safety policies, standards, and procedures to promote transport safety.
  • Conduct thorough investigations of fleet and road safety incidents, perform root cause analyses, and implement corrective actions.
  • Analyze safety-related data and key performance indicators; prepare and present reports with recommendations for improvement to senior leadership.
  • Oversee driver training programs, qualifications, and safety awareness campaigns across various geographic regions.
  • Ensure conformity with all relevant transportation and road safety regulations on local, regional, and global levels.
  • Work in partnership with procurement, operations, and human resources departments to secure safe vehicle procurement, regular maintenance, and effective driver management.
  • Contribute to sustainability efforts focused on fleet operations, including initiatives to reduce emissions and promote eco-driving.

Additional Duties

  • Participate in environmental health, safety, and security audits and assessments.
  • Provide technical training and mentorship to regional fleet and commercial teams.
  • Develop and coordinate safety training modules and regional training sessions.
  • Support emergency response and crisis management related to fleet events.
  • Represent the company in external fleet safety and industry forums.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Safety, Engineering, Transportation, or a related discipline.
  • Six to eight or more years of experience in fleet or road safety management, or environmental health and safety.
  • Expert knowledge of fleet safety regulations and standards.
  • Strong analytical and data handling capabilities, including incident investigation skills.
  • Proven effectiveness in communication and stakeholder engagement across diverse teams.
  • Vendor and supplier relationship management expertise.
  • A valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally approximately 20-30% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a related area.
  • Experience managing global fleet safety programs.
  • Knowledge of sustainability and emissions reduction strategies.
  • Professional certification in road safety or fleet management (e.g., CSP, CSM, Fleet Safety Certification).

Compensation and Benefits

The anticipated salary range for this role is €70,100 to €121,210 annually.
