Senior Electrical Engineer - Building Services

Overview

This role calls for a Senior Electrical Engineer to spearhead electrical design efforts on projects ranging from single-discipline to complex multi-disciplinary ones. Taking charge of small to medium design packages within extensive programs, the role emphasizes cost and schedule management alongside adherence to quality standards. The position also involves fostering strong client partnerships and playing a pivotal role in expanding the Building Services team's capabilities and the organization's strategic objectives.

Team Environment

The Sydney-based Building Services team is part of a nationally renowned Property and Buildings division, combining seasoned professionals with fresh talent to promote a collaborative and inclusive culture. The team manages a robust pipeline of diverse Tier 1 projects in sectors such as Transport, Defence, Data Centres, Commercial, Aviation, Government, and Health, supported by national resources and a global network.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design activities for projects of varying scopes and complexities across multiple sectors.
• Manage small to medium-sized engineering design projects and contribute effectively to larger, more intricate projects.
• Ensure transparent and consistent communication with clients, regulatory authorities, colleagues, and management to foster project alignment and success.
• Implement industry best practices to optimize project outcomes, emphasizing time efficiency and cost reduction without sacrificing quality.
• Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients, identify potential business opportunities, and stay attuned to their evolving requirements.
• Support the growth and strategic initiatives of the business unit to enhance overall organizational success.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 7 to 10+ years of professional experience in Australian building services projects, preferably within a consulting context.
• Proven ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously, varying in scale and industry sector.
• Strong capabilities in client relationship management and project coordination.
• Comprehensive knowledge of relevant Australian Standards and Codes, including AS/NZS 3000 and NCC.
