Role Overview
The Senior Bartender will deliver tailored, high-quality bar services to guests by understanding and fulfilling their preferences. Responsibilities include crafting cocktails and fine beverages, recommending food and wine pairings, supporting junior bartenders, managing bar operations, and upholding cleanliness and inventory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Understand guest requirements to offer personalized bar services, including recommendations and strategic upselling.
- Prepare cocktails and other drinks strictly following recipes and curate specialty drink menus aligned with outlet themes or guest requests.
- Advise on excellent beverage and food pairings, enhancing guest experience and promoting beverage sales.
- Assist and coordinate with other bartenders to ensure high-quality service delivery.
- Manage transactional procedures accurately, including processing and recording drinks sales.
- Organize and present bar items attractively, ensuring displays are visually appealing.
- Carry out opening, closing, and cleaning duties according to detailed checklists.
- Collaborate with stewards to maintain strict hygiene and cleanliness standards and ensure availability of glassware.
- Oversee bar inventory, checking product expiration dates, and monitor storage of perishables.
- Complete daily, weekly, and monthly checklists, notifying management about beverage restocking needs.
- Serve alcoholic beverages responsibly, complying with company policies and local regulations to ensure safe consumption.
- Develop positive working relationships with team members, fostering a supportive environment to achieve common goals.
- Address guest inquiries courteously and handle complaints effectively, escalating issues when necessary.
- Perform additional duties assigned by management as needed.
- Ensure compliance with departmental policies, HACCP, F&B operating procedures, and maintain Jumeirah’s luxury service standards.
- Adhere to all Health, Safety, and Environmental guidelines and controls.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Completed Higher Secondary School certificate.
- Basic Food and Hygiene Training certification.
- 2 to 3 years of bartending experience within the international hospitality sector.
