Role Summary

We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join our Foundation Tribe supporting the expanding regional Product team based in Singapore. You'll work within an international, skilled, and driven group committed to excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify, analyze, and solve complex technical problems across software and infrastructure layers focusing on improving performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Participate in the design and refinement of system architectures that meet current business requirements and can scale with future technology advancements.
• Enhance code quality by setting coding standards, conducting thorough code reviews, and deploying automated testing frameworks for early identification of defects.
• Effectively manage project tasks, deadlines, and deliverables within self-directed teams.
• Collaborate within cross-functional, international teams to deliver integrated solutions.
• Engage in discussions on architecture, peer reviews, and share know-how transparently within the team.
• Work closely with Product Management to maximize value delivery to stakeholders and customers.
• Apply cloud environment expertise, continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) concepts, testing, and validation independently.
• Implement design patterns and reliability best practices, such as resiliency, autoscaling, monitoring, and alerting autonomously.
• Provide mentorship to junior engineers promoting knowledge sharing, collaboration, communication, and leadership to strengthen team capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline; an MBA or relevant postgraduate degree is advantageous.
• Between 7 to 9 years’ experience architecting and developing complex, distributed, large-scale backend systems including microservices, event-driven designs, and cloud-based solutions.
• Mandatory proficiency in Golang programming language.
• Deep understanding of software architecture principles such as SOLID, Hexagonal Architecture, and Design-Driven Development.
• Practical experience with major cloud platforms like AWS and GCP, leveraging their capabilities to build scalable and resilient applications.
• Experience with containerization technologies, including Docker, and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes for deployment and management.
• Designing and implementing scalable CI/CD pipelines is a beneficial plus.
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus and Grafana to ensure performance, availability, and reliability.
• Strong knowledge of relational database fundamentals including normalization, ACID properties, and indexing, along with key-value stores like Redis and Elasticsearch.
• Understanding of software development life cycle processes, particularly automated testing at unit, integration, and functional levels.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills to work effectively across diverse, international teams.
