Role Overview

We seek a Senior Mobile Engineer specializing in Android to contribute to the next wave of Retail Media and sponsored advertising on our mobile platform. As a core member of a cross-functional product team, you will design and implement scalable Android applications integrating sponsored products, personalized recommendations, native ads, and campaign-driven user journeys, while ensuring a premium shopping experience for millions of customers across Europe.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of scalable, maintainable, and high-performance Android applications using Kotlin and modern architecture patterns including MVVM, MVI, and Clean Architecture.
• Define and evolve the Android app architecture focusing on scalability, modularity, testability, and maintainability.
• Champion the use of Jetpack Compose for building modern, reusable, and responsive user interfaces.
• Develop reusable components for Retail Media advertising such as Sponsored Products, Sponsored Brands, banners, and personalized recommendations.
• Integrate Retail Media seamlessly into commerce journeys like product discovery, search, and category browsing, balancing monetization with user experience.
• Collaborate closely with Backend Engineers, Data Scientists, Product Managers, and Retail Media stakeholders on API design, tracking, campaign metadata, targeting, and attribution.
• Create flexible, configurable solutions enabling new ad formats and campaigns with efficiency.
• Ensure adherence to engineering best practices around modularization, code quality, dependency management, testing, security, and performance optimization.
• Improve CI/CD processes, build performance, and release management.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation on architecture decisions and technical processes.
• Review and guide key technical and architectural decisions, promoting engineering standards across teams.
• Enhance app stability, performance, and technical health while reducing technical debt strategically.
• Implement and evolve feature flagging, experimentation frameworks, and A/B testing to validate user and advertising experiences through measurable metrics.

Required Qualifications

• Strong, extensive experience in Android development with Kotlin.
• Advanced understanding of Android SDK and current development best practices.
• Hands-on experience with Jetpack Compose, Coroutines & Flow, and Dependency Injection frameworks such as Hilt or Dagger.
• Proficiency with REST API integration using Retrofit or OkHttp.
• Solid knowledge of clean architecture principles, design patterns, and modular codebase organization.
• Experience with unit and UI testing tools like JUnit, Espresso, and MockK to write maintainable testable code.
• Familiarity with continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines.
• Demonstrated capability to independently manage complex projects and deliver quality outcomes.
• Focus on performance optimization, scalability, and user experience.
• Excellent collaboration skills with teams across product, design, backend and data science.
• Experience in Retail Media, AdTech, MarTech within large-scale e-commerce environments is a significant plus.
